Job description
Monitor and perform pipe fitting activities on shipboard and industrial piping systems in accordance with technical drawings, work permits, and safety procedures, to ensure accurate installation, safe operations, and timely completion of assigned tasks, in full compliance with the International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS) standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
1. Execute and Monitor all assigned pipe fitting tasks safely, efficiently, and within the scheduled timeframe.
2. Review and interpret technical drawings and documentation, including pipe installation drawings, to ensure accurate execution.
3. Install pipe spools and components in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
4. Obtain and verify valid work permits (Hot, Cold, Isolation, etc.) prior to commencing any work activities.
5. Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings, and identify potential risks associated with assigned tasks.
6. Perform pipe fitting activities in line with operating manuals and technical drawings, demonstrating knowledge of bolts, nuts, gaskets, tools, and pipe connection procedures.
7. Monitor and manage material usage to identify potential shortages and coordinate timely replenishment.
8. Apply precise fitting techniques, inspect completed work, and verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
9. Inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe operation and prevent equipment-related hazards.
10. Demonstrate full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) responsibilities in all work activities.
Highschool or Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification
At least 9 years’ working experience
Good in communication skills
1G (Rotated) Welding cert.
• Ability to read and understand measurements, assembly lists, and basic drawings.
• Skilled in using hand and electrical tools.
• Knowledge of common ship materials and components
• Basic knowledge of tolerances.
• Awareness of workplace hazards (fire, sparks, falling materials).
• Attention to detail (to avoid mistakes and wastage).
• Teamwork – working with chargehands and crane operators.
• Time management – completing assigned cuts within shift targets.
• Communication – reporting problems or unsafe conditions quickly.
• Willingness to learn – improving cutting techniques or adapting to new tools
Good Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language
