IoT Data Engineer

Canonical's engineering team is developing cutting-edge telemetry and connectivity solutions for the IoT revolution. We are seeking talented individuals to help us enhance our global SaaS services, providing customers with the essential data services needed to build the next generation of IoT devices. You will design and architect high-performance service APIs to power streaming data services and develop robust governance, auditing, and management systems. **Key Responsibilities:** * Work remotely with a globally distributed team. * Design and architect high-performance service APIs for streaming data using Python and Golang. * Develop robust governance, auditing, and management systems for a telemetry platform. * Partner with infrastructure teams to build scalable cloud-based SaaS solutions. * Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of new features from spec to production. * Provide technical oversight, code reviews, and set best practices. **Requirements:** * Design and architect scalable backend services and REST APIs using Golang or Python. * Expertise in cybersecurity principles and challenges of IoT environments (secure connectivity, governance). * Proven expertise in IAM models, encryption, access control, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA). * Proven expertise in high-throughput, low-latency systems and data streaming technologies (MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ). * Familiarity with Ubuntu as a platform. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related field.
