Paymaster and General Cashier

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality in regard to payroll related information.
  • Keep track of overtime forms and ensure authorization.
  • Follow up with HR in regard to attendance records.
  • Collect and verify basic payroll information from approved payroll documents.
  • Co-ordinate with HR Department on matter concerning employees’ basic pay, EOS, vacation, allowances, and benefits.
  • Post monthly service charge paid outs, tips, and various commissions.
  • Ensure garnishments and payroll advances are deducted and reconciled.
  • Compute and ensure the accuracy of the payroll register and submit for approval.
  • Prepare bank salary transfer letters and manual payroll cheques.
  • Maintain the payroll system and track vacation and lieu days outstanding.
  • Collect daily cash drops in the presence of a witness.
  • Count and verify daily cash receipts and reconcile to the PMS system.
  • Consolidate, prepare and make the daily bank deposits.
  • Conduct surprise float counts and maintain over and short records.
  • Make petty cash disbursements and reconcile weekly.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality.
  • Must be self-motivated and have a high degree of analytical ability.
  • Oral and written fluency in English.
  • Must have excellent cash handling skills.
