Cost Control Engineer
Job Description
Mohammad Al-Habib Real Estate Investment Company is a family-owned and privately-held company specialized in real estate investments, developments, master plans, scouting land for urban projects, managing construction details with contractors, and designing commercial and residential communities. The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and controlling the costs associated with engineering and construction projects. This role ensures projects are delivered within budget by monitoring project spending, forecasting future costs, identifying cost variances, and implementing corrective actions when needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project cost control systems and reporting tools
- Prepare and maintain cost reports and cash flow forecasts
- Analyze project performance and compare actual costs to budget
- Monitor and control project expenditures
- Review and validate contractor/supplier invoices and payment certificates
- Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions
- Generate periodic cost control reports for stakeholders
- Collaborate with procurement and contracts departments on cost issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical) or Construction Management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost control, preferably in construction
- Professional certification (CCP, PMP) is a plus
