General Technician
Job Description
The General Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance across the hotel to ensure all facilities, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas are safe, functional, and well maintained. The role supports smooth hotel operations by promptly addressing maintenance issues and upholding Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and basic mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms and public areas
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the hotel’s maintenance schedule
- Identify and report major repair needs or safety hazards
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and in good working condition
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of work completed
- Support energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices
Qualifications
- Diploma or technical certification in engineering, maintenance, or a related trade
- Proven experience as a General Technician or similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
