Job Description
Our client, a leading logistics and transportation provider in the region, is seeking an experienced and highly reliable Senior Truck Driver. This is a crucial role ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across various destinations. The ideal candidate will possess an impeccable driving record, a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, and a commitment to adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations within specified timeframes
- Perform routine inspections of vehicle including tires, brakes, lights
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service
- Plan and execute optimal delivery routes
- Load and unload cargo as required
- Provide exceptional customer service
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the class of vehicles operated
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Proven experience as a truck driver, with a focus on long-haul or regional transport
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic repair procedures
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed
