Senior FPGA Design Engineer - ASIC Prototyping
Job Description
Our client is a cutting-edge technology firm renowned for its advancements in semiconductor design and hardware acceleration. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team. This role is critical in the design, verification, and implementation of complex FPGA-based systems for ASIC prototyping and emulation. You will be responsible for the entire FPGA design flow, from high-level architecture definition and RTL design to synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis, and hardware validation.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and verify complex FPGA systems using VHDL/Verilog.
- Develop and maintain RTL code for ASIC prototyping and emulation platforms.
- Perform synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis for FPGA designs.
- Conduct hardware bring-up and debugging of FPGA prototypes.
- Collaborate with verification teams to develop testbenches and resolve issues.
- Optimize FPGA designs for performance, power, and area.
- Work closely with ASIC design teams for integration and validation.
- Develop and maintain documentation for FPGA designs and processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in FPGA design and verification.
- Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGA families and development tools.
- Strong understanding of digital logic design, computer architecture, and algorithms.
- Experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR) and DSP is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ASIC design flow and emulation techniques.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
