Project Management Unit Lead - Lebanon
Job Description
Malteser International (MI) is looking for a Project Management Unit Lead for its AHEAD program in Lebanon. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing the implementation of a multi-annual program funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. Key tasks include strategic guidance, operational oversight, donor compliance, and coordination with the Order of Malta Lebanon. The position involves managing a team of 8 staff in Beirut and ensuring safety, security, and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the AHEAD Project Management Unit (PMU) with 8 staff in Beirut
- Ensure full compliance with donor requirements including finance, logistics, programs and partnership agreements
- Maintain strong partnership coordination with OML
- Establish and oversee robust monitoring and evaluation systems
- Serve as the primary liaison to HQ line management
- Ensure effective safety and security management
- Oversee comprehensive HR management
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in International Relations, Development, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in senior donor relations, grants management, or external affairs roles within INGOs or UN agencies
- Proven track record in managing multi-million institutional donor relationships (BMZ, ECHO, EU, UN), and specifically GFFO
- Faith literacy is a prerequisite
- Excellent written and spoken English
