General Manager
Job Description
Our client, a leading company in the food manufacturing sector, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead the operations of their Bakery Manufacturing Unit and oversee the strategic and operational aspects of other food-related business units. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food manufacturing, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record in scaling operations and ensuring high-quality product standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall strategic direction and leadership to the bakery and other food manufacturing units
- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with corporate goals
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations: production planning, quality control, logistics, and supply chain
- Prepare and manage the annual budget and ensure cost controls
- Analyze financial statements and operational reports
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of department heads
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety and health regulations (HACCP, ISO, etc.)
- Liaise with key clients, suppliers, and partners
- Monitor market trends and customer feedback to improve offerings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Strong experience in bakery production and food industry operations is essential
- 10+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of UAE food regulations, standards, and business environment
