Director of Finance
Job Description
Operating in a remote-first environment, as Director of Finance, you will own financial execution, forecasting, and reporting while serving as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team. Accountabilities: Lead company-wide FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting. Act as finance partner to executive team. Build and own financial models. Oversee daily financial operations including AP/AR and monthly close. Prepare financial reporting for leadership and board. Strengthen financial controls and governance. Manage external partners (auditors, tax advisors). Requirements: 8+ years of progressive experience in finance. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; Master’s preferred. Experience in VC-backed SaaS, fintech, or GovTech environment. Strong financial modeling skills. Hands-on experience with accounting operations. Understanding of GAAP (ASC 606 preferred). Salary: $160,000–$190,000 plus equity.
Responsibilities
- Lead company-wide financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling
- Act as the day-to-day finance partner to the executive team
- Build, maintain, and own financial models and reporting
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, and monthly close
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting for leadership and support board reporting
- Strengthen financial controls, approval workflows, and spend governance
- Manage and hold external partners accountable
- Develop detailed team-, product-, and revenue-level reporting
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, including FP&A, forecasting, and operational finance
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Experience working in a VC-backed SaaS, fintech, benefits, or GovTech environment
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Hands-on experience managing accounting operations
- Solid understanding of GAAP, with experience supporting revenue recognition
