Job Description

The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing, producing, and presenting high-quality pastries and desserts while maintaining Five-Star standards. Responsibilities include menu development, managing pastry and bakery operations, controlling food costs, and supervising the pastry kitchen team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, bake, and present a wide range of pastries, desserts, and breads to Five-Star standards
  • Ensure consistency in quality, portion control, taste, and presentation
  • Assist in menu development and dessert concepts
  • Control food costs by monitoring production and minimizing waste
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry kitchen
  • Train, supervise, and motivate pastry kitchen team members
  • Coordinate with kitchen and F&B teams during operations and events

Qualifications

  • Diploma or professional certification in Pastry, Bakery, or Culinary Arts
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef in a Five-Star hotel
  • Strong knowledge of pastry production, desserts, and chocolate techniques
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP
