Job Description
FMCBC is a provincial non-profit that supports 50+ outdoor recreation clubs, with over 6,000 members. We’re looking for a Communications Manager who can plan, create, and coordinate clear, consistent communications that elevate member voices, promote non-motorized, accessible recreation, and strengthen our relationships with member clubs, partners, and the public. The role is communications-led with event coordination and light administration support.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver an annual communications plan
- Research, write, edit, and publish blog/news content
- Maintain FMCBC websites (WordPress)
- Plan, write, design, and send quarterly e-newsletters and targeted updates
- Manage social media channels
- Take ownership of the Cloudburst Connect bi-annual series
- Design light-to-moderate collateral
- Develop simple surveys/polls to gather member input
- Track and report channel performance
- Build campaigns that increase awareness and membership growth
- Plan, promote, and deliver member events
- Serve as the initial contact and club support for all inquiries
- Administer the annual Member Club Grant Program
Qualifications
- Several years of experience in communications and marketing for a non-profit, association, or public-interest organization
- Demonstrated strength in writing and editing
- Hands-on with WordPress, email marketing, social tools, basic design, analytics and reporting
- Proven ability to plan and deliver events (virtual) and coordinate many moving parts
- A collaborative, service-oriented approach
- Commitment to accessibility, inclusive language, and respectful engagement with Indigenous communities
