Job Description

Handle the annual country tax planning. Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe. Review tax declarations to assess tax implications. Provide tax advice and guidance for the company to reasonably avoid tax under the premise of legal compliance and identify and mitigate tax risks. Manage the country’s Tax reporting process and review the final tax calculations. Manage the company’s tax statements and returns, while reporting budgetary concerns and taxation effects of business decisions. Ensure local internal taxes (VAT, Income, Payroll, stamp…etc.) are in compliance with country’s laws and regulations. Lead all internal & external tax audit and authorities. Manage the preparation of the essential documents required for tax inspection purposes; and review the tax authority’s inspection report to identify and resolve issues raised. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation. Manage the settlement of the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual taxes. Coordinate with company controllers and other finance staff to gather details for income tax returns. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure our tax strategies and policies are implemented accurately as per national tax compliances. Identify, track and report any potential financial risks or issues and working closely with the accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions. Collaborate with other departments and teams, such as finance, legal and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination on tax matters. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations. Analyse customer contracts to assess tax liabilities, including VAT, sales tax, and withholding tax implications. Ensure customer contracts align with tax compliance requirements and recommend adjustments as needed. Work closely with the legal and sales teams to review tax clauses in customer agreements. Advise on the tax impact of contract structures, including revenue recognition and cross-border transactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce
  • Professional qualification of Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a corporate or tax firms
  • 12+ years of overall experience
