Security System Engineer
Job Description
Wood is seeking a Security System Engineer to support our projects business. The role involves contributing to the development of a new gold mine and processing facility at a remote site in Saudi Arabia. You will oversee and manage the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of all Electronic Security Systems (ESS) for the client project, ensuring 100% compliance with the Saudi Supreme Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) Safety and Security Directives (SEC).
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for all HCIS-related matters for the client project.
- Ensure all security designs (Concept, Preliminary, and Detailed) align with HCIS SEC Directives (SEC-01 to SEC-15).
- Manage the workflow of the Workflow Management System (WMS) for HCIS approvals.
- Coordinate with the HCIS-approved consultant to ensure SRA and SCD are accurately implemented.
- Review and approve EPC contractor deliverables, including layouts, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical data sheets.
- Oversee the integration of Electronic Security Systems including IVMS, ACS, PIDS, and Security Communications.
- Supervise Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for critical security equipment.
- Perform regular site audits during the construction phase to ensure installation matches approved IFC drawings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.
- Minimum 15–20 years in Security Systems Engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas or Mining sectors in Saudi Arabia.
- Proven track record of delivering projects under the Saudi Supreme Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) regulations.
- Deep understanding of Ma’aden’s standards and Wood’s IPMT delivery methodology.
- Proficiency in security CAD drawings, risk assessment methodologies, and integrated security software platforms.
- Strong command of English (Technical Writing).
