Shift Engineering
Job Description
The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all engineering and maintenance activities during an assigned shift to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted hotel operations. This role ensures that guest comfort, safety, and asset protection are maintained in accordance with Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all engineering operations and maintenance activities during the assigned shift
- Respond promptly to engineering issues, breakdowns, and guest maintenance requests
- Monitor operation of all hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and BMS
- Coordinate and assign tasks to technicians
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
- Maintain accurate shift logs, maintenance records, and handover reports
Qualifications
- Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management
