Job Description
The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for analyzing loan applications to determine creditworthiness, assess risk, and ensure the loan meets all necessary requirements for approval. This includes reviewing financial documentation and evaluating property appraisals.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly review and analyze loan applications
- Assess borrower's creditworthiness and repayment ability
- Identify and mitigate potential risks
- Ensure loan files are complete and accurate
- Communicate with loan officers and processors
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of mortgage underwriting experience for Non-QM, conventional, Jumbo, or government loans
- Strong knowledge of mortgage lending products and regulatory requirements
- Recent experience in Encompass
