Head of Software Development
Job Description
This senior role is responsible for leading the software development function to support long-term innovation. The position combines technical leadership with strategic planning, overseeing a distributed engineering team. Relocation to Erbil is required.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the software development strategy
- Lead remote and on-site development teams
- Provide architectural oversight and enforce best practices
- Translate business requirements into technical deliverables
- Deliver complex projects using Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies
- Promote continuous learning and technical innovation
- Manage department budgets, resources, and vendor relationships
Qualifications
- Over 8 years in software development
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Willingness to relocate to Erbil is essential
