Job Description
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for coordinating design information and preparing comprehensive workshop drawings to support construction processes. The role entails supervising junior coordinators and collaborating across disciplines to ensure seamless integration and compliance with project standards. The role demands expertise in civil and architectural engineering, proactive communication, workload management, and effective liaison with clients and consultants.
Responsibilities
- Review project/contract documents to identify gaps or differences in drawings
- Identify discrepancies and missing design information and raise RFIs
- Prepare final shop drawings and scale working drawings
- Coordinate structural, architectural, and ID elements with MEP team
- Manage and oversee sub-contractors and suppliers
- Perform regular site inspections for technical execution
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries
Qualifications
- Graduate in Civil Engineering or Architecture Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of GCC experience working in the technical office of reputed main contractors
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, PDF editor software, and BIM
- Strong understanding of Dubai local authority requirements and regulations
