Contract and Cost Engineer
Job Description
PMC technical lead for contract compliance and cost oversight in Iraqi oil & gas projects (e.g., Basra/Kirkuk oil fields, gathering stations, pipeline networks, processing plants). Focuses on auditing, verifying, and advising EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractors to ensure contract fulfillment aligns with the client's (oil operator) terms, international oil & gas contracting standards (FIDIC, IADC), Iraqi local regulations, and cost control benchmarks.
Responsibilities
- Auditing, supervising, and verifying that EPC contractors adhere to the client's quality requirements
- Technical lead for contract compliance and cost oversight
- Auditing EPC cost reports
- Resolving contract disputes using FIDIC
- Managing budgets for large scale oil & gas infrastructure (pipelines, processing plants)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Quantity Surveying, Civil/Mechanical Engineering (with cost focus), Business Administration (Contract Management), or Law (Commercial/Construction Law)
- Minimum 5 years of contract & cost management experience in oil & gas, with at least 2 years in a PMC role
- Prior experience in Iraqi or Middle East oil & gas projects
- Fluent in written and spoken English
