Nursing Instructor
Job Description
Job Requirements: Strong knowledge of clinical practices, educational methodologies, and adult learning principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to assess educational needs, develop curricula, and evaluate program effectiveness. Proficiency in using educational technology and tools. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with a background in education or training, preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing Education or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and updates educational programs and curricula
- Creates instructional materials
- Facilitates clinical training for FCMS students
- Addresses a professional nursing practice gap
- Conducts training sessions, workshops, and seminars
- Provides orientation and onboarding for new nurses
- Manages the Lippincott competency specialty curriculum
- Assesses the educational needs of nursing staff
- Ensures educational programs comply with state and federal regulations
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs
- Offers hands-on clinical education and support
- Mentors and supports nursing staff
- Promotes and facilitates nursing research
- Participates in or lead research projects
- Stays current with healthcare trends
- Collaborates with nursing leadership
- Provides clear instructions and support
- Participates in professional development opportunities
- Maintains accurate records of educational activities
- Prepares reports and documentation
- Implements and evaluates transition to practice programs
- Coordinates with clinical resource nurses
- Stay current on nursing education and clinical practice developments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master’s degree in Nursing Education or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience
