Technical Inspector (Allied Trades)
Job Description
Performs inspections of Body Work, Welding, Canvas, and Machining repairs on a wide array of military vehicles & customer requested metal fabrications IAW Army Technical manuals & AWS Welding Code requirements as needed. The Allied Trade Inspector may be required to instruct other employees in the proper repair/fabrication procedures of military equipment/ferrous and nonferrous metals. This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial, in-progress and final inspections on Body, Canvas, and Welding repairs
- Conduct field technical inspection on fabrication and metallic parts
- Performs visual and Non-Destructive Testing
- Reads blueprints and sketches to plan process and layout
- Determines type and quantity of material for orders
- Reviews work order documentation for accuracy
- Responsible for the Welding Testing/Qualification process
- Classifies equipment for disposal IAW Army regulations
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years six Welding Inspection experience
- AWS Certified Welder
- Ability to obtain a CAC
