Electrical Design Verification Engineer
Job Description
Independently review and verify Electrical Design Basis and design philosophies for oil & gas projects in line with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Independently review and verify Electrical Design Basis and design philosophies for oil & gas projects
- Perform design reviews of electrical power generation and distribution systems (HV, MV, LV)
- Review UPS systems supplying DCS, ESD, F&G, telecom, and other safety-critical loads
- Conduct independent reviews of electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Review motor specifications, starting philosophy, protection schemes, and interfaces
- Verify earthing, bonding, and lightning protection system designs
- Review electrical equipment specifications and datasheets
- Assess electrical layouts, equipment rooms, and cable routing concepts
- Perform compliance checks against international standards (IEC, IEEE, API, NFPA, NEC, BS EN)
- Identify design gaps, deviations, and non-compliances
- Carry out inter-disciplinary design checks (IDC)
- Review vendor documents and participate in technical bid evaluations (TBE)
- Participate in FATs, Electrical-HAZOP, and design review workshops
- Support client meetings and design review discussions
- Prepare design review reports, comment registers, and close-out notes
- Verification of Safety Critical Elements (UPS, Earth-bonding, ATEX equipment, etc.) at sites
Qualifications
- B Tech/BE/M Tech/MS in Electrical Engineering
- Overall experience: 10 to 15 years with reputed international EPC Contractors like Technip, Worley, Wood, Petrofac etc.
- Minimum of 8 years of core design experience in the discipline with any EPC or FEED Contractors while working in the Oil & gas and allied industries
