Job Description

Implements AWHONN's strategy to improve and promote women's and newborns' health and strengthen the nursing profession in states and territories throughout the country. Conducts grassroots outreach, recruits volunteers, and administers the e-advocacy program.

Responsibilities

  • Draft e-advocacy alerts concerning state legislation and regulations
  • Update and maintain AWHONN's e-advocacy website
  • Recruit member nurses for advocacy representation
  • Communicate legislative progress to association membership
  • Prepare social media updates for legislative policy updates
  • Develop tools and resources for coalition activities
  • Attend Public Policy Committee meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in political science, public health, nursing, or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate relationships with allied organizations
  • Experience in grassroots outreach and e-advocacy
