Financial Accountant
Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including data entry, accounts receivable and payable, financial reporting, and financial planning. This role is critical in structuring, cleaning, and maintaining accurate financial records while supporting management with reliable reporting and forward-looking financial analysis in a fast-growing company.
Responsibilities
- Perform all accounting data entry in Zoho Books, including sales invoices, purchase bills, receipts, payments, journal entries, and adjustments
- Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified
- Lead the cleanup, reconciliation, and restructuring of historical accounting data since company inception to reflect the true financial position
- Manage accounts receivable, including issuing customer invoices, tracking collections, follow-ups, and aging reports
- Manage accounts payable, including processing supplier invoices, scheduling payments, and maintaining supplier balances
- Perform regular customer and supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Perform monthly bank, credit card (if any), customer, supplier, and inter-account reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of supporting financial documentation (contracts, invoices, approvals)
- Assist in establishing and maintaining basic internal controls and accounting procedures appropriate for a growing company
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors for audits, compliance, and statutory reporting
- Assist with VAT reporting and compliance in coordination with external consultants
- Prepare and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Track actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis
- Support management with financial insights for pricing, cost control, and planning decisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a small or fast-growing company where full accounting ownership was required
- Proven experience managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Strong experience in financial reporting and budgeting / forecasting
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems (Zoho Books experience is a strong plus)
- Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
