JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE


The primary purpose of this role is to operate and maintain the Project Information Management System (PIMS) to support the entire project lifecycle, from engineering and procurement to construction and commissioning. This involves ensuring the accurate and efficient management of technical documents, drawings, procedures, and vendor data, as well as facilitating smooth workflows for document approvals and timely review cycles.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


• Operate and maintain the PIMS platform to support the full project lifecycle—from engineering and procurement to construction and commissioning.


• Ensure proper uploading, classification, and archiving technical documents, drawings, procedures, and vendor data.


• Monitor workflows for document approvals and ensure timely review cycles.


• Collaborate closely with document controllers, engineers, project managers, and shipyard contractors.


• Set up folder structures, user access permissions, and metadata standards in the PIMS.


• Generate reports, track deliverables, and support audits and compliance checks.


• Conduct training for project personnel using the PIMS system.


• Commission Document Management in PIMS, Input, update, and maintain commissioning-related documents in PIMS, including – ITR, MC certificate, NOE, RFCC, RFOC, SAT, Punch list, etc.


• Heavily involved with system/subsystem break up and definition, along with defining Mechanical Completion certificates and Inspection Test Records for the same.


• Enter and validate data for commissioning activities, including subsystem details, punch lists, and test results, ensuring accuracy in PIMS.


• Verify ITRs against field reports, ensuring all engineering items (e.g., piping, instruments, valves, cables etc.) are correctly tagged and linked to systems/subsystems per P&ID drawings


• Monitor and update punch item statuses (categories A, B, C), ensuring Category A items are cleared before commissioning and Category B items are tracked for post-commissioning resolution


• Generate and distribute PIMS R4 reports for commissioning progress, including aggregated values per phase (e.g., MC, COM) for subsystems and packages.


• Support the creation of Discipline Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCC) and Livening Up Notices (LUN) or notice of energizing (NOE) by ensuring all ITRs and checklists are complete


• Prepare summary reports for RFCC and RFOC handovers, highlighting any outstanding punch items.


• Work closely with commissioning engineers, inspectors, and contractors to collect and verify field data, ensuring PIMS reflects real-time project status


• Assist in preparing commissioning procedures by linking predefined PIMS reports to procedure templates


• Responsible for uploading all subsystem documentation breakdown into PIMS for subsequent administration of the mechanical completion process.


• Communicate with stakeholders (e.g., Commissioning Manager, Operations team) to clarify Punch list resolutions or certification requirements


• Maintain traceability of installation and testing data in PIMS, supporting warranty cases and audits.


• Troubleshoot PIMS-related issues and liaise with the IT support team or vendor.


• Support handover of final documentation to the client or operations team upon project completion.


• Work in conjunction with the production team to effectively achieve the requirements of the project.


Education


Bachelor's degree qualification in a relevant discipline


Professional Qualifications

• Training in PIMS R4, or Omega O365 and Commissioning processes is highly desirableز


Experience


At least 3 years’ experience in the shipyard. Preferred in new builds Rigs.


Languages


Excellent Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
