Instructional Designer
Job Description
You will join the Global Operations Training team at Airbnb. Our mission is to empower everyone to deliver exemplary service through continuous and impactful learning. The Instructional Designer role focuses on developing functional and practical training content to support curriculum across Community Support, AirCover, and Trust teams. This includes content for new hire curriculum and in response to organizational changes, release events, and other initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging instructional materials using eLearning, ILT, VILT, etc.
- Conduct needs assessments collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs)
- Apply learning science and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, etc.)
- Test and troubleshoot content for SCORM/xAPI/LMS compliance
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback loops
- Continuously improve content design based on data analysis and new technologies
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as an instructional designer or developer in a business context
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and attention to detail
- Strong collaboration skills
- Native or advanced fluency in English; additional fluency in Korean, Japanese, or Chinese is a plus
