Chief Steward (Short-Term)
Job Description
Assists in the management of the daily kitchen utility operations and staff. Areas of responsibilities include dish room operations, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance, banquet plating and food running. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
Responsibilities
- Order and manage necessary supplies and equipment
- Schedule events, programs, and work of others
- Conduct china, glass and silver inventories
- Inspect work areas to verify conformance to standards
- Manage loss prevention policies to prevent accidents
- Enforce proper cleaning routines for serviceware and equipment
- Verify compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
- Assist with management of employees and day-to-day operations
- Participate in the management of department's controllable expenses
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience OR 2-year degree in Hospitality/Business with 1 year experience
