Lab Equipment Maintenance Engineer/Specialist- Lasers and Electronics
Job Description
The Lasers and Electronics Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Engineer/Specialist provides professional expert service and support for high-tech laboratory research equipment. This includes field service repairs, maintenance, calibrations, and alignments of laser research equipment. The role also involves mentoring junior personnel and training users on equipment operation.
Responsibilities
- Build functional and productive relationships with laser system manufacturers
- Respond quickly to maintenance, calibration, alignment, and troubleshooting requests
- Coordinate with end-users to schedule equipment maintenance
- Identify and diagnose problems and implement appropriate solutions
- Identify required spare parts and facilitate ordering
- Instruct end users on preventative maintenance strategies
- Comply with HSE and KAUST safety policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science and/or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a certified service engineer for Coherent, Spectra Physics and/or Light Conversion
