Head of Lighting Design
Job Description
The Head of Lighting Design is responsible for setting the creative vision, technical standards, and strategic direction of the lighting design department. This role combines high-level design leadership with team management, client engagement, and oversight of complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the overall lighting design vision of the studio
- Oversee creative direction and quality of all projects
- Build, lead, and mentor the lighting design team
- Set workflows, standards, and best practices
- Act as a senior client-facing representative
- Stay at the forefront of lighting technologies and industry trends
- Contribute to business development and strategy
Qualifications
- Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field
- 10–15+ years of professional lighting design experience
- Proven experience leading teams and departments
- Deep technical knowledge of lighting systems, controls, and sustainability
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
