Workshop Supervisor - Heavy Vehicles
Job Description
Purpose of the Job: To ensure smooth running of all aspects of workshop operations within the commercial vehicles and heavy equipment. Job Accountabilities: Distribute the work according to skills and constraints; Follow work progress and check quality; Estimate cause, cost and time for additional work; Provide technical support to technicians; Review parts requests; Ensure optimal use of equipment; Participate in vehicle testing; Obtain warranty approvals; Evaluate technician performance; Coordinate with sales department on PDIs and deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Distribute the work according to the required skills, urgent jobs, and constraints
- Follow the work progress and checks the work quality
- Estimate the cause, cost and time needed for additional work
- Provide technical support to technicians
- Review the technician's request for parts and order from parts department
- Ensure optimal use of equipment and avoid waste of consumables
- Participate in testing of vehicles
- Coordinate with the service manager to obtain warranty approvals
- Evaluate the technician’s performance and maintain records
- Coordinate with sales department on PDIs, stock and deliveries
Qualifications
- Diploma in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position within the workshop of heavy vehicles
