Gas Insulated Switchgear Specialist
Job Description
Aramco is seeking a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Specialist to join the Technical Services Division. Your primary role is to provide specialized technical support regarding designs, standards, commissioning, maintenance, operation, and investigation in order to ensure safe and reliable Power Supply for Saudi Aramco’s electrical transmission and distribution networks.
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis on critical equipment failures
- Assess maintenance programs for high voltage equipment
- Provide technical expertise to support maintenance of existing equipment
- Provide technical consultation to assess condition of aging switchgears and breakers
- Offer technical guidance on repairs and evaluate equipment design
- Provide engineering input on repair details and onsite technical support
- Ensure work packages meet company standards and material specifications
- Review company and international standards for compliance
- Provide technical training and guidance to stakeholders
- Demonstrate active role in the commissioning of GIS
- Assess compliance with manufacturing standards (e.g. IEC) during factory acceptance testing
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 10 years of operations and maintenance experience directly working with GIS
- In-depth knowledge, experience, and recognition as a GIS specialist
- Professional Engineering certifications such as chartership or PE is preferred
