Job Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Junior Accountant based in Africa. The Junior Accountant supports the accounting team by handling day-to-day transactional tasks, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Record and post journal entries
- Process accounts payable/receivable transactions
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Assist with bank, supplier, and intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare balance sheet account schedules
- Support monthly close checklist
- Identify automation opportunities
- Coordinate with Procurement and Operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in FMCG/manufacturing
