Application Packaging Engineer
Job Description
This role is responsible for creating, repackaging, testing, and maintaining standardized Windows application packages that meet security, compliance, and operational requirements. This is a fully remote position.
Responsibilities
- Repackage and customize Windows applications using AdminStudio
- Create, modify, and maintain MSI packages, MST transforms, and EXE wrappers
- Resolve MSI errors and application conflicts
- Create MECM Applications and configure detection methods
- Support application upgrades, patching, and retirement strategies
- Troubleshoot MECM deployment failures using logs
- Develop PowerShell scripts for install logic, detection, and remediation
- Test application packages across supported OS baselines (Windows 11)
- Create and maintain detailed packaging documentation and SOPs
- Provide Tier 3 support for application deployment issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's with 8+ years of commensurate experience
- Clearance Required: Public Trust
- Enterprise application packaging experience
- Strong hands-on experience with MECM / SCCM and Flexera AdminStudio
- Deep understanding of Windows Installer internals
