JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE


Workers will perform the hull construction work at the P.E & Dock area until the time of launch and delivery. Workers comply with the regulation of safety and be involved in preventing safety accidents. Workers follow the instructions of managers and safety teams unless there is a safety concern. Fit-up is a work of placing/fixing the member or plate in exact right position according to the marking line or symbols by using tack welding, so that the next sub-assembly can be done accurately. After the block setting is completed, the joints are aligned, and restraint welding is performed so that the welding work can proceed. Manage to ensure that welding works can be performed appropriately.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


•Create a safe working environment. o Keep clean, ensure that proper lightening, passage, extinguisher, ventilation. Tidying up working cable.


•Comply with safety regulations. o Comply with working standards. o Thoroughly wear and use safety equipment.


•Actively participate in safety checks and toolbox meetings.


•Perform assigned tasks within the specified time. (Meeting deadlines)


•Performing duties under the direction of the manager. o Prohibition of work by the arbitrary judgment of the operator.


•Performing work after qualification. (Proper welding qualification)


•Work after checking drawings and WPS standards. o Workers need drawing comprehension skills.


•Know how to check and operate the equipment.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


Education • Technical Diploma or equivalent.


Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)


• Certified 2F,3F welder (ABS/Class Certified).


• Optional ability: Folk lift driving license.


Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)


• Familiar with the common welding types: shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW)


• 2F, 3F qualified. • Need to have professional cutting skills.


• Inspecting materials, welding equipment and tools.


• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective. clothing (such as face- shield, gloves etc.,)


• Understanding of various welding processes, Weld symbols, Weld maps, as well as cutting and grinding operations.


• Must not have acrophobia, claustrophobia.


• Good oral communication skills in English.


Experience


• At least 3 to 6 years’ experience in the Shipyard/Ship repair Industry.


Languages


• Good Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.


• Arabic.
