Principal Process Design Engineer (Waste Treatment & Management)
Job Description
As an SME, you will provide Waste treatment and Management expertise to the process engineering team and downstream disciplines in designing and optimizing waste treatment technologies for waste disposal, treatment, and recycling. You will work closely with local environmental regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, minimizing environmental impact, and improving waste treatment efficiencies across the waste treatment facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and direction to engineering teams to design and implement waste treatment solutions.
- Collaborate with process engineering team in developing Basis of Design, Heat & Mass balance, PFDs, and P&IDs.
- Participate in safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL) and design reviews.
- Review technical proposals from vendors and provide technical bid clarifications.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards (USEPA, ISO etc.).
- Manage waste treatment projects from concept to detailed engineering.
- Validate waste characterisation data and develop technology selection reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant experience in waste treatment, environmental engineering, or a related field, particularly within industrial sectors
- Knowledge of waste treatment processes (e.g., chemical treatment, biological treatment, waste-to-energy, recycling)
- Understanding of environmental laws and hazardous waste management regulations
