Assistant Tax Manager
Job Description
On behalf of our client, a well-established consulting firm in Kuwait, is seeking a Tax Assistant Manager to join its growing tax and advisory practice. The role will focus on delivering high-quality tax compliance, advisory, and regulatory services to a diverse client base.
Responsibilities
- Oversee corporate income tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission in line with Kuwaiti regulations
- Prepare, review, and submit statutory tax returns and reports
- Ensure compliance with withholding tax requirements for non-resident payments
- Liaise with tax authorities on queries, assessments, and audits
- Monitor and apply Kuwait commercial, corporate, and tax regulations
- Ensure timely completion of regulatory filings, license renewals, and statutory submissions
- Support internal controls and governance frameworks
- Provide advisory support on direct and indirect tax matters
- Identify tax planning opportunities, incentives, and exemptions
- Support cross-border transactions and treaty-related matters
- Assist during tax audits and regulatory inspections
- Prepare documentation for assessments and dispute resolution
- Coordinate with external advisors and auditors
- Build and manage relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Identify opportunities for tax advisory services and cross-selling
- Support preparation of proposals, presentations, and client pitches
- Assist senior leadership in strategic business growth initiatives
- Contribute to newsletters, tax updates, and thought leadership content
- Support seminars, webinars, and industry events in collaboration with marketing teams
- Supervise and review work of junior tax team members
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and business teams on tax impact assessments
- Maintain effective relationships with regulators and external advisors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law
- Professional qualification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or CTA preferred
- 4–7 years of relevant tax and regulatory experience, ideally in Kuwait or the GCC
