Job Description
Shooting Star Academy is seeking a capable and disciplined Part-Time English Tutor to support students in grades 8–12, primarily from international school backgrounds. In this role, the tutor will deliver structured English instruction aligned with English-language curricula, including both language and literature components.
Responsibilities
- Deliver English instruction to students in grades 8–12 through individual sessions and small-group sessions
- Teach English language and literature content aligned with English-based school curricula
- Support History and Social Studies subjects taught in English when required
- Plan and prepare lessons thoroughly to meet student needs and academic objectives
- Complete required post-lesson academic documentation for every session
- Follow internal teaching, reporting, and lesson-management processes
- Participate in feedback, supervision, and performance review processes
- Support consistent student progress through structured follow-up and monitoring
Qualifications
- Strong command of English
- Confident teaching upper-grade English content, including literature and advanced language skills
- Ability to teach History and Social Studies in English is an advantage
- Comfortable receiving feedback and working under academic supervision
- Patient, structured, and firm in classroom management
- Reliable, punctual, and prepared for scheduled sessions
- Able to work within an organized, system-driven teaching environment
- Bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Literature, Linguistics, Education with English specialization, or a closely related field
- 1–2 years of teaching experience preferred
