Job Description
To design and develop mechanical systems for various projects in compliance with approved codes and standards, providing effective engineering solutions within a consulting engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Design HVAC systems in accordance with project requirements
- Design plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems
- Perform mechanical calculations (cooling/heating loads, airflow, equipment selection)
- Prepare design and detailed mechanical drawings
- Prepare technical specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and structural disciplines
- Review and approve Shop Drawings from contractors
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, IPC, and local codes
- Prepare technical reports and design studies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 7 to 10 years of proven experience in mechanical design
- Previous experience working in consulting engineering offices
- Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HAP/Carrier (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and under pressure
- Good command of the English language (written and spoken)
