Chief Accountant
Job Description
The Chief Accountant will be the leader of our accounting operations, responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all financial records, compliance with local regulations and international standards, and the timely production of financial statements. This is a critical leadership role that reports directly to the Head of Finance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead full month-end and year-end closing processes
- Serve as primary liaison for all external and internal audits
- Oversee all corporate tax, VAT, payroll tax, and regulatory filings
- Design, implement, and document accounting policies and internal controls
- Supervise functional accounting areas including AP, AR, Fixed Assets, and Payroll
- Ensure integrity of company's ERP/Accounting software
- Monitor and reconcile daily/weekly cash flow activities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 1 year in a Chief Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Controller role
