Remote Prior-authorization Pharmacy Tech - Texas
Job Description
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support clinical pharmacy programs focused on Electronic Prior Authorizations (ePA). In this role, you will work closely with providers, pharmacies, and payers to complete prior authorization requests accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Complete electronic prior authorization requests within EMR systems and external payer portals.
- Review patient charts and supporting documentation.
- Outreach to providers, pharmacies, and patients to obtain required information.
- Follow up with payers on pending authorization cases.
- Coordinate with pharmacies regarding medication approvals.
- Monitor and manage inboxes and phone queues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Texas State Pharmacy Technician license
- At least 6 months of experience in pharmacy, prior authorization, call center, or customer service
- Prior authorization experience required
- Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
