In-House Counsel
Job Description
The Internal Legal Counsel is a highly experienced legal professional responsible for providing strategic legal advice and guidance to the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing complex legal matters across multiple areas of the business, including contracts, corporate governance, employment, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Offer high-level, strategic legal counsel to the organization on complex and critical legal matters
- Provide expert guidance on various areas of law, including contracts, corporate governance, employment issues, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee the review, drafting, and negotiation of complex contracts, agreements, and legal documents
- Lead efforts to ensure full compliance with corporate governance principles and best practices
- Advise on high-level employment law matters, including employment contracts, terminations, and labor-related issues
- Lead the development of comprehensive strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and manage high-level risks
- Manage or oversee complex legal disputes, litigation, and claims
- Establish and maintain an advanced contract management system
- Conduct advanced legal research and analysis
- Deliver advanced legal training and education to employees and senior management
- Implement and maintain high-level data privacy policies and practices
Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years of experience as an attorney, with an extensive focus on corporate, contract, and employment law
- Bachelor's degree in Law or Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Admission to the relevant state bar or equivalent legal certification
