Medical Assistant - Questionnaire Review - Remote
Job Description
Navigate and work within our proprietary electronic medical record system to evaluate and process patient health information to determine outcomes for various types of medical and specialty exams. Conduct a review of a variety of examination documentation, test results, assessments and information and, by corroborating via phone interview with Service Members and Veterans, provide a clear, comprehensive and concise final product. Collaborate with providers, Veterans, and Service Members via the call line to ensure examination meets regulatory and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and process patient health information in EMR system
- Conduct review of examination documentation and test results
- Corroborate info via phone interview with Service Members and Veterans
- Collaborate with providers to ensure exams meet regulatory requirements
- Identify emergent behavioral health issues and initiate intervention
- Document test results
- Interface via telephone (approx 50%) and email with providers and veterans
Qualifications
- Vocational or Technical Training/Education in a Medical related field (Medical Assistant, LPN, HIT, EMT, etc.)
- Ability to type 40 words per minute
- Knowledge of healthcare documentation including medical, behavioral, and psychological terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of technical writing
- Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office
- Experience working in an Electronic Medical Record system
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to pass a Public Trust Background Check
