Manager of Research and Grants
Job Description
AWHONN is a not-for-profit membership organization that promotes the health of women and newborns. The Research & Grants Manager is responsible for oversight of the organization's research and grant portfolios. Grant Development: Identify funding opportunities and coordinate proposal development. Grant Administration: Manage post-award activities including tracking expenditures and compliance. Research Coordination: Support researchers in developing and executing research projects including IRB submission. Systems & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in management systems and develop reports for leadership. Education/Experience: Master's degree required. Experience in nonprofit, academic, or healthcare setting. Minimum 3 years in grant writing/management and 2 years in research administration. Salary: $85,000 - $90,500. Work consists of 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify public and private grant opportunities
- Coordinate the development of grant proposals and budgets
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines
- Serve as a liaison with external funders
- Manage post-award activities and tracking expenditures
- Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions
- Support researchers in developing and executing research projects
- Maintain accurate records in grants management systems
- Develop reports for leadership on funding progress
Qualifications
- Master's degree required in Public Administration, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- Experience working in a nonprofit, academic, or healthcare setting
- Minimum 3 years of experience in grant writing and management
- Minimum 2 years of experience in research administration
- Familiarity with federal, foundation, and corporate funding sources
- Experience with budget development and management, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with IRB protocols and research ethics
