Senior Accountant
Job Description
The Senior Accountant performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. May include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation. Provides daily financial oversight to ensure that the financial records are complete, accurate and comply with generally accepted accounting principles and policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform general or cost accounting activities requiring some insight and depth of understanding
- Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions
- Ensure proper handling of financial transactions and transactions approvals within designated limits
- Assists immediate superior in the preparation of MIS reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations
- Establish tables of accounts, and recorded all entries to its proper accounts
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems
- Perform internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets, and cash
- Appraise, evaluate, and conduct inventory of real property and equipment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounts and Finance
- Professional Qualification in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Minimum 5 years working experience
- 3 years relevant working experience
- 2 years GCC experience is a plus
